Discussion:
New Line Bonding - Firebrick 105
(too old to reply)

We have just added a second line to one of our sites and we are about to
try and sort bonding of the two lines to increase both download and
(slightly more importantly) uplink capacity. Having had a quick look at
the Firebrick 105 Bonding FAQ, and searched this news group for info, I
still would like some knowledge in how the FB should be set up, and if I
need to request additional IP ranges when the lines will be both
connected to the new 'line and router'.

So to the group and The Rev - Can someone please spare a paragraph in
how we should implement this?

Thanks

We normally recommend a /30 for router/firebrick link for each line.
Then a block that each router statically routes to the brick, and is on
the bricks LAN.

If you have your IPs I can make an example.

Main Ips of the site are 81.2.102.65/28

At the moment the existing router takes 81.2.102.65 and the rest are
sent to the fw (not a brick at the moment though will be changed out to
facilitate bonding)

The new line is connected but doesn't have a router on it yet, and we
don't have nay additional ips for it I believe.

Thanks

Richard

OK, I have allocated IPs for you.

When you get a brick, it may be best to just talk through with support.
