Discussion:
Problem with icons in new factory release
(too old to reply)

Hi,

Since the new release I am unable to get my screen reader to access
any of the new icons on the toolbar on the top near the right - i.e,
setup etc.

All I get is the word blank when the system encounters these icons -
blank for each item. When using the command to get a list of links in
the screen reader, I just get a whole list full of the word blank,
until I come to real links, which work as expected.

The screen reader is used because I am visually impaired.

Would it be possible to at least put alt tags on the icon images?

Also, since the wizard is removed, when the unit is reset to factory
defaults, what screens are the users presented with? Do they have to
set up subnets manually?

Thanks.
Andrew.

I made sure the link itself has a TITLE tag. I had not realised this
would not be visible. We also tested on lynx, which works.

We would be interested to know what browser and settings you are using.

I have just issued a new beta with ALT tags that have the image name.
Please do let me know if this resolves the issue.

The change to "blank" for the icon itself should only affect IE which is
broken in that it does not display semi-transparent png images. It seems
it is able to do so but needs a blank image and a style with a filter to
overlay the png. Maybe later versions of IE will resolve this and we
will not have to go through these hoops.

The wizard was getting out of date and causing confusion. We are
considering putting it back at some point. However, subnets are pretty
easy to set up. We are happy to talk you through it if you need.

I will get back to you with more info on this.

Regarding the wizard, I am setting one up in a week and just wanted to
know what to expect.

Thanks.
Andrew.

This is perfect. This doesn't show it, but I can tell what the links
are or not when going through the pages.

I really appreciate the work involved for probably only one user's
benefit.

Thanks.
